Colour collective : Light Yellow Glaze

This year for some reason, I've felt compelled to draw bears. And as always, I love drawing flowers and gardens... So here's my colour collective for this week.

I haven't done a piece for colour collective for ages... I was starting to feel left out, until today!
I finally had some time in my hands to do something for this awesome challenge. As always, you can check all the art submitted from around the world with the hashtag #colour_collective either on facebook or twitter. Have a nice weekend :)

Published books and cluelessness

This was the first year that my designs were at the biggest children's book fair (of the world?) celebrated last week in Bologna. I was very excited to have my agents showing my portfolio to potential clients but I didn't realise that some of the books I worked on last year were going to be shown in the publisher's stands! I found a catalogue featuring my designs... I'm sorry that I missed the opportunity of sharing the info live, while the fair was happening :( but it's better late than never.

The first one is a set of 4 very colourful board books for small children - I was so happy for being allowed to use super bright colours in this book.

The second set features children in onesies and costumes - This one was so much fun to draw, I love onesies!

In other news, if there's a WHSmith near you or your loved ones you can find 2 mid year diaries featuring my designs!

Or you could order them online if you live in the UK (click on the images to go to the shop)

River trip

The Bologna Book Fair is just around the corner, and I wanted to add some new pieces to my portfolio. Maybe you already know that I love drawing animals and travelling... so here's a piece that combines the two. Fingers crossed that publishers like my designs!

Here's my entry for colour collective this week, the colour is Moss which is a kind of yellowish green... I definitely love drawing the jungle and its animals :)

Colour collective: Deep Naples Ochre

I don't know why, but lately I've been feeling like drawing bears all the time - not that I think that there's anything wrong with that! So, here's another bear for the colour collective challenge. She's wearing a straw hat and a matching coloured cape. Pretty stylish, huh?

Colour collective: Viridian

Well, here's my colour collective for this week. I was inspired by the weather we've been having in HK so far this year and one of my favourite movies from Studio Ghibli: My neighbour Totoro. I hope you're having better weather than us wherever you are :)

First colour collective of the year

Last year I started taking part in the #colour_collective creative challenge on twitter and enjoyed it very much. Each week they choose a colour and all creative people are invited to draw something and post together on Fridays at 19:30 GMT. I really recommend to all of you (regardless of your skill level) to take part in the challenge, it's lovely to see what everybody comes up every week and in general people are very supportive and nice. Anyway, here's my first colour collective of the year - the colour is rose quartz-.
